What is Profhilo?

The first of its kind, Profhilo® is a new approach to rejuvenating your skin tone and treating skin laxity by triggering a ‘bio-remodelling’ response. Profhilo is a revolutionary ‘beneath the skin’ treatment that is the start of new category of anti-ageing injectable treatments. One should not confuse Profhilo with dermal fillers, skin boosters or mesotherapy. Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment, free of any chemical cross-linking agents. This results in a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulation activity on the dermal cells. When injected into the skin, Profhilo awakens and stimulated your collagen and elastin production to help treat skin laxity and sagging tissue. Often referred to as switching your skin’s  ‘lights on’. One of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo® not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but Profhilo benefits you if you have ageing and sagging tissue.

How Does Profhilo Works?

During the 30 days following the Profhilo treatment, your tissue’s remodelling process occurs. The hyaluronic acid deeply hydrates your tissues. During this time the stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of hyaluronic acid.

The simulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo® is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening/lifting effect on the tissue.

Which areas can be treated?

What are the risks?

One of the main reason for Profhilo’s popularity is that it poses minimal risks to most patients and can be done with little downtime. We have never had a client who has not been a candidate, but if you have a bleeding disorder, are immunocompromised or are someone with unrealistic expectations, you may have contraindications and should discuss your circumstances with your provider before treatment. Of course, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you cannot have any injectable treatment. As with all injectables, brusing is possible, but it’s less likely if you follow a few simple steps.

• No alcohol for 24 hours before or after injection
• Avoid Omega-3 vitamins and anti-inflammatory injections for at least three days before and after treatment.
