  • What is Dry Eye Disease?

TempSure Envi is a radiofrequency (RF) laser treatment that safely and effectively treats baggy and dry eyes for a smoother, healthier-looking appearance. Meibomian Gland Disease (MBD) is the leading cause of dry eye and ocular discomfort, and it is now treatable with this radiofrequency laser! Tempsure Envi stimulates clogged tear glands and revives an optimal surface for the eye.

Dry eyes occur when eyes don’t produce enough quality tears to supply necessary nourishment and lubrication to the surface of the eyes.

There are three layers of the eye that can contribute to dry eye disease: the oily layer, the mucus layer, and the watery layer.

Each of the layers requires slightly different treatment to relieve symptoms of dry eye disease.

  • What causes Dry Eyes?

There is no one single cause of dry eye. It usually is a combination of many factors which may include:

Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD)

Blocked or obstructed tear ducts

Previous eye surgery like laser vision correction

Frequent computer use

Contact lens wear

  • How does the treatment work?

By delivering radiofrequency to heat your skin gently, TempSure increases your skin temperature for a prescribed period of time. This heat triggers the body’s natural reaction to produce new collagen. These new collagen fibers are tighter and denser.

As a result, excess skin in the lower or upper eyelid is reduced and you can say goodbye to fine lines, skin tags, spider veins, and cherry-red spots. If you are suffering from dry eye disease, Envi stimulates clogged tear glands and revives an optimal surface for the eye. After your treatment, we will provide recommendations and supplements for you to improve the quality of their tears further reducing recurrences of dry eye symptoms.

  • What to Expect? 

When you come in for your consultation , Dr. Masurkar will discuss your goals and create a custom treatment plan for you. During your treatment, you will experience a gentle warming sensation around the target area(s).

After the treatment, there is usually only a slight amount of redness on the skin, which quickly subsides. Immediately following your treatment, you will be able to return to your daily activities. That’s right; there is zero downtime so you can get back to doing what you love to do and look your best while doing it!
